ENGLISH/FRENCH TANDEM CLASS
FOR (NEAR) NATIVE-LEVEL SPEAKERS of FRENCH or ENGLISH ONLY
2 ECTS credits : FLE/English
TANDEM is held two hours per week on Wednesday nights from 18-20h.
The theme is DEVELOPING INTERCULTURAL COMPETENCE. The topics will be provided in advance and the participants are requested to come prepared to talk and exchange on a given subject with a fellow student who speaks the other language. Each student will lead the discussion in their own language for half the duration of the class and participate in the language they are learning for the other half of the class.
Assessment is based on attendance, interaction, written activity reports, oral presentations.
English speakers : All 'Exchange-IN' students who are interested are welcome. Any English-speaking INSA student is also welcome.
French speakers : Tandem is open to 4th year students (who have priority) as well as 3rd year students. Enrollment in TANDEM is limited for French speakers. You will be advised by the team if you have been accepted or not.

FOLK MUSIC from the BRITISH ISLES and the US
Theme for 2017-18: Hardship and Struggles
Maximum class size : 16
Do you enjoy learning English through music? Do you like singing or playing an instrument? In this class, you will discover the history and culture of Great Britain, Ireland and the US by listening to famous folk songs, studying the lyrics and understanding the stories and messages behind the music. You will also learn to sing or play some songs with an end-of-year concert.
Restricted to students 3rd year students as the class runs for two semesters (semesters 5 and 6)
